The History of The Henries
Named after Sir Henry Cole, who introduced the first commercially produced Christmas card in 1843, The Henries Awards have been the ultimate accolade in greeting card publishing since their inception by Progressive Greetings in 1996. Celebrating creative excellence and industry camaraderie, The Henries is the greeting card community’s ‘big night.’ This year’s event, themed around Ancient Rome, will take place at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday, 3 October 2024, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve reached the finals in five categories,

Marvel Die Cuts has earned a spot as a finalist in the Best Licensed Entertainment Card Range at The Henries Awards. “We were super excited to bring this range to market,” says Ben Whittington, UKG Creative Manager. “Featuring fan-favorite heroes like Deadpool and Wolverine together in one collection—just in time for their incredible new movie—here’s hoping they can win us a greetings card Oscar on the night!”
We’re so excited to be nominated for the Best Traditional Words and Sentiments award again this year, especially coming off the back of our win for Female Relations at The Henries Awards 2023.
Our Word Portraits range really showcases the skills of our in-house editorial team, featuring crafted rhyming verse that gets to the heart of some of the most important relationships and occasions our customers want to celebrate. These cards feel like something the recipient will want to treasure, keep and read again, and we hope the judges love them as much as we do.

Since launching our partnership with RHS eight years ago, it has gone from strength to strength, and our nomination in the Best Licensed Heritage, Lifestyle, Art or Design Card Range at The Henries is proof of that continued success. “This nomination is a true testament to the fantastic job our creative team does with the gorgeous RHS artwork,” says Lora Madigan, Licensing Manager. Boofle, everyone’s favourite snugglesome pup, has been nominated as a finalist for the highly prestigious ‘Henry Cole Classic’ award, an award celebrating ranges that have stood the test of time.
