Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports families confronted with the news that their child has a life-shortening condition. The charity needs to raise £4 million each year and with just 4% coming from the government, they rely on the goodwill of individuals and organisations for the remainder.

Katie Dilnot, Special Editions Business Development Manager, comments “We have supported FMN for a number of years and wanted to explore more opportunities to help them raise funds.” UKG approached Gareth Pierce, Head of Trading at FMN and suggested working together to run a Christmas card competition. With the idea being that the winning design would be made into a Greeting Card which can be sold in their stores to help raise funds for their good work. Gareth thought the idea sounded fantastic and both companies got to work.

On Tuesday 22nd August, UK Greetings opened their doors to Elizabeth Lee, the winner of the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Christmas Card Competition. Elizabeth spent time with the creative teams and had a tour of the business, where she was able to learn how her design will be brought to life. Commenting on the tour Elizabeth said “Oh wow – it’s so exciting seeing how it all happens.  Everyone’s so clever!”

Angela Lee, Elizabeth’s mum commented: “Elizabeth had the most amazing afternoon – she felt like a mini celebrity! UKG made one young girl extremely happy and she experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity! She couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the afternoon.”

The winning design will go on sale later this year at Forget Me Not house and in their retail stores, with all proceeds going to the charity.
