investment in Sustainable Manufacturing

To support this launch, UK Greetings has invested significantly in advanced manufacturing equipment. This state-of-the-art machinery is designed to efficiently produce and apply the paper tear strips at scale.

“This investment demonstrates our dedication to sustainability,” said Richard Wilkinson, Operations Director at UK Greetings. “It enables us to lead in eco-friendly solutions without compromising on quality. We’re proud to be one of the first companies to introduce this innovative product to the market.”

Julie Huntington-Dale, UKG’s supply chain director adds “We will be converting around five million rolls in 2025 to have a paper tear strip meaning that the roll wraps will be 100% recyclable. Our development on the roll wrap front is not only significant as it is happening on our site, but is totally plastic-free.”

This new tear strip is part of our broader effort to expand our range of sustainable products, which includes recyclable wrapping papers and plastic-free packaging. You can expect to see this new feature on our roll wraps from January 2025, including all our Christmas 2025 designs.
